Getting Famous – Yvonne Mwale – OUT NOW

Happy Release Day Yvonne Mwale!  As of today, her new single “Getting famous” is available on all streaming platforms.
In Germany, she is known from the world music context. The socially critical song features elements of hip-hop with electronics, with which she has already reached Top 10 in the radio charts (Zambia) in southern Africa.

In her recent single releases, the Zambian singer did not shy away from tackling socially critical topics. It’s no different in their new release “Getting Famous”. She eloquently sings about how easy it has become in the age of social media to achieve short-term fame without having achieved anything worth mentioning. Small scandals that go viral – and you already have a certain popularity. In addition to English, Yvonne Mwale also uses her national language, Nyanja, and would particularly like to address her compatriots in this way. Despite criticising the topic, she also sees the title as an encouragement to promote real talent and instead to develop a reputation in society with hard work and real ability.
