GeminiCrab – RIDE (single)

RIDE is the second single from the fresh Montreal duo GeminiCrab, consisting of Felix Award winner, producer and keyboardist Caulder Nash and Grammy nominee, vocalist and keyboardist Malika Tirolien.

Following their début single A Love That Will Last (released September 20th), Ride is a catchy mushroom trip from a perspective you wouldn’t expect: mushrooms. It details everything that will happen to the person who ate or drank them with humour and accuracy.

The cover, made by Brazilian graphic designer Takiis Branding, shows a woman staring at a mirror in a field of mushrooms that transform into floating, colorful and blossoming jellyfishes all around her. The reflection she sees is not hers but the immensity of the universe with all its stars and dark matter.

Musically, Ride is a funky RnB song mixing English and French with touches of Hip hop, that you will be singing by the end of the tune due to the catchy chorus. Created with Jean-Michel Frédéric during a residency at the PHI Centre using binaural technology, it is part of GeminiCrab’s 8 song Album called Gen Y Lens.

GeminiCrab is gaining lots of attention right now and will be touring in Europe, the UK and Morocco before launching their Album at the Phi Centre in Montréal, their hometown, on Nov 28.
