Josefine Lindstrand’s second single from her upcoming album has been released today: “Phoenix” asks the melancholic question “Why do things that I love so swiftly fade away … “. The enigmatically beautiful song fits perfectly into the autumnal days.
Her new album “Mirages by the lake” (o-tone music/edel kultur) will be released on 28th of january 2022. It is full of music that takes you on a journey back to Josefine’s childhood, to the dark and adventurous forests and cold, hidden lakes in Sweden. The music was recorded in the countryside outside Stockholm in a beautiful studio, with her own favourite musicians from the past (Jonas Östholm-piano, Gunnar Hallet-trumpet, Pär-Ola Landin-contrabass, Fredrik Myhr-drums). After that Josefine worked with the material in their own studio, creating sounds, voices, synthesizers, atmospheres and cutting around, like building LEGO bricks. In February 2019, Josefine travelled to Bonn to record the beautiful voices of the Bundes Jazz Orchester Chor. This was the final building block to make the project complete!
